Breast Revision
01.What is Breast Revision?
CK Plastic Surgery creates voluptuous and natural-looking breasts through the customized breast surgery and specialized post-surgery program, which eliminates the need of revision surgery. Also, we offer a revision breast augmentation Los Angeles to the patients who have received an inappropriate surgery and management from other clinics and have not been satisfied with the result.
02.Time for a revision surgery
The success of surgery will be most visible after from 6 months to 1 year, and become stable after more than a year. This applies to all kind of surgeries, and this is the reason that a revision surgery gets approximately scheduled after 6 months from the first surgery. The appropriate time for a revision surgery is after 6 months from the first surgery; however, if problems such as implant rupture and/or deformation appear, then a surgery may be done in less than 6 months. Receiving a revision surgery before 6 months may result in adverse effect, so it needs to be decided after a thorough discussion with a breast revision specialist with a lot of experience.
03.WHAT is Globular capsular contracture?
There are many causes of globular capsular contracture. There is not a specific cause, but it can possibly due to the location of implants, hematoma due to infection or bleeding, foreign substance, or constitutional reason. Major symptom is the hardening or deformation of breasts, and when the contraction of abnormally thickened capsule presses implants, patients may have pain in the breast. The formation of globular capsular contracture is affected by the post-operation management, but the important factor is the method of a surgery. A surgery using an endoscopy technique minimizes bleeding, which is one of the causes of globular capsular contracture, and prevents the destruction of tissue. Globular capsular contracture can be divided into four degrees as following.
04.Degrees of Globular Capsular Contracture
1st, Breasts look natural, and patients don’t feel the implants
2nd, Breasts look natural, and patients don’t feel the implants
3rd, Patients can feel the hardening of breasts.
4th, Implants are recognizable, and look deformed.
05.Method
The capsule should be removed carefully or a revision surgery should be done, in which the space should be open in a comb-shape and a new implant is inserted to be in an appropriate place. Since breast contracture mostly occurs with breast deformation or asymmetric breasts, a revision surgery should be done by the doctors who have many years of surgery experience and advanced skills if the reason of the revision surgery is the occurrence of globular capsular contracture.
01.what is Asymmetric Breast (Mislocation of Implants)?
It happens due to the deformation of breasts caused by globular capsular contracture, the inappropriate space exfoliation for implants, or the mislocation of implants during post-operation management.
02.Types of Asymmetric Breasts
– Breasts located in the upper chest due to the upward movement of implants
– Droopy breasts due to the downward movement of implants
– Breasts which are too close due to the inward movement of implants
– Breasts which are too apart due to the outward movement of implants, and breasts without cleavage
– Breasts with double bottom lines
– Breasts with recognizable implant lines (called ‘rippling’)
03.Method
Prior to breast correction, it should be checked whether it is due to globular capsular contracture or not. It can be corrected by a simple procedure in the early stage, and if not, a revision surgery should be conducted to correct the asymmetry. In order to have an accurate result, an endoscopy technique should be used to check the pocket of implants and additional exfoliation or muscle incision should be conducted. If patients can feel the implants by touching due to thin skin or rippling occurs, the artificial thick skin is added to thicken the patients’ skin.
