01.What is Breast lift(Mastopexy)?
Breast lift (Mastopexy) is the mammoplasty procedure to collect saggy breasts that have lost the elasticity due to the denaturalization of elastic fibers in breast tissue. Saggy breasts may be caused by pregnancy, childbirth, rapid weightloss or aging, and it can cause inconvenience due to saggy skin and derease in confidence in beauty, causing mental stress.
02.Who needs Mestropexy?
The degree of sagginess is judged by how below the nipple is from the bottom line of a breast. The normal location of a nipple is 4-5 cm above the bottom line of a breast, and the degree of sagginess can be categorized into three levels.
Stage A mastoptosis
The nipple is at the level of the line underneath breast, or drooped less than 1cm from this line.
Stage B mastoptosis
The nipple is drooped about 1-2cm from the line underneath the breast, but remains above the lowest Stage C level.
Stage C mastoptosis
The nipple is facing downward because it is drooped more than 3cm from the line underneath the breast.
1. Breasts are slightly saggy and small. Breasts can be corrected by breast augmentation. The general breast augmentation is not enough for correction, then ‘bi-plane method’ is more effective. ‘Bi-plane’ breast augmentation can be done by areola incision or incision of the bottom line of breasts, The breast augmentation gives a better result on slightly sagging breasts than on tight breasts.
2. Breasts are severely saggy, and breast augmentation is not enough for correction. Various surgical methods are required. Periareolar incision, vertical incision or counter-T-shape incision can be done respectively as the degree of sagginess becomes severe.
3. Augmentation mastopexy can be conducted. For individuals who have small and severely sagging breasts, breasts can be lifted up as well as the volume of breasts. The surgical method works well for individuals who have low volume in upper part of brea.
